It shouldn't be too hard to convince someone who likes one Marquez book to read another :D IMO, having read both, One Hundred Years of Solitude is better, but Love in the time of Cholera is maybe an easier one to start with, just because it's shorter and...more straight-forward (well, it's not that straight forward...)
